Transportation General Information The Town of Southbury operates two buses to assist in getting around town to doctors appointments, hair appointments, personal care appointments, etc. We also provide transportation to attend to errands and shopping, as well as trips to and from the Senior Center. You must be a resident of Southbury either 60+ years or disabled to ride the bus. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  All appointments must conclude by 3:00 PM. Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be made by 12:00 Noon the day prior to a scheduled appointment. Although we strive to fulfill all requests, at times we may not be able to accomodate an individual due to the overwhelming demand. Our buses are wheelchair accessible.  All wheelchair riders must be accompanied by an aide as the drivers are not able to assist to and from the vehicles.  Drivers are at lunch from 12:00- 1:00 p.m.  (there is no transportation at this time)  The fee is $7.00 for a ticket of 20 roundtrip rides. Southbury Bus Rules

• All passengers must be able to get on and off the bus with little or no assistance.
• Wheelchair riders must be accompanied by someone who is able to assist the rider. Drivers are only responsible for operating the wheelchair lift and strapping in.
• You must be ready within a 15 minute time frame for pick -up. Drivers are unable to wait any longer than 5 minutes for a rider.
• When shopping, there is a 3 bag limit per person. 
• No unscheduled stops are permitted, other than to a pharmacy after a doctor's appointment.
• Seat belts are to be secured at all times.
• Inappropriate language or actions will not be tolerated.
• The driver has the right to refuse service if a rider disregards any of the above rules.
