Volunteer Appreciation

On October 1, 2023 at 12:45 PM at the Pavilion in Ballantine Park, the Volunteer Appreciation Committee will be hosting an afternoon filled with community spirit, food and fun.

This year’s honorees are ALL of our wonderful townspeople within our community. The Volunteer Appreciation Committee recognizes that many of our Southburians have gone above and beyond assisting their neighbors, religious organizations and friends through tough times and throughout the Covid pandemic. We feel that we would be remiss not to say ‘Thank You’ to each and every one of our community members for the effort and kindness displayed during such an unprecedented time.

Please join us to honor the kindness that Southbury residents have shown to each other during Southbury’s Volunteer Appreciation BBQ and Get-Together. This event is open to everyone who has given their time to help others no matter how great or how small. We truly are “A Town That Runs on Volunteers”.

As has become a tradition at this event, The Knight of Columbus will be serving the town and barbequing for us.

The Middlebury and Southbury Equity & Inclusion Council will have representatives present and will have a table which will explain its mission within the community and share important resources for our Southbury families.

This year’s themes are ‘COMMUNITY’ and ‘GRATITUDE’. With this in mind the Committee is requesting that attendees help support those less fortunate than ourselves by bringing to the event a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Southbury Food Bank.

The event is free but advance registration is required. Please register below.

For more information, please contact Michelle Rosen of the Volunteer Appreciation Committee through the office of the First Selectman at select3@southbury-ct.gov.
