5/3/2019 - “Boot Camp for Your Senses” Presentation

The Southbury Garden Club will present a program called “Boot Camp for Your Senses,” by nationally renowned gardener, writer and lecturer, Tovah Martin, on Friday, May 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Southbury Public Library.

Her talk will be based on her latest book, “The Garden in Every Sense and Season”. Her lecture will explore the garden on all levels by attuning your nose to the scents and training your ears to listen. Learn to garden with eyes wide open, ears to the ground, and hands outstretched. Tailored to the current season to make each presentation dynamic, this lecture will lead the audience through an odyssey of exploration to awaken the senses and arouse your abilities of perception on all levels.

Tovah, who lives in Roxbury Connecticut, is nationally recognized for many gardening books, including: “The Indestructible Houseplant”, “The Unexpected Houseplant”, “The New Terrarium” among others. Her articles have appeared in magazines including: “Country Gardens”; “Martha Stewart Living”; “Yankee”; “Connecticut Cottages and Gardens” and “Gardens Illustrated”. Tovah lectures nationally and has appeared on the Martha Stewart Show, the CBS Sunday Early Show, and PBS.

The hour long program will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interested local residents are invited to attend. The program is free and open to the public.
