10/4/2019 - “Brighten Up the Winter Blues – A Look at Great Plants for Winter Use” Presentation

The Southbury Garden Club will present a program called “Brighten Up the Winter Blues – A Look at Great Plants for Winter Use” on Friday, October 4th at 1:00 p.m. at the Southbury Public Library.

Adam Wheeler, Horticultural Manager at Broken Arrow Nurseries in Hamden, will bring a large assortment of live plants to illustrate some of unique plants he will discuss. All have been chosen to provide interest in your winter garden.

Broken Arrow Nurseries offer over 1,500 different plants and is unique because it is one of the few retail nurseries that propagates and grows most of the plants it sells.

Adam holds degrees in Urban Forestry and Landscape Horticulture. His favorite responsibilities at the nursery include plant propagation and the acquisition and development of new plants.

The hour long program will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interested local residents are invited to attend. The program is free and open to the public.
