On Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 2-4pm in the Kingsley Room of the Southbury Public Library, Janeen Bjork will lead an interactive workshop on the basics of Facebook limited to 10 participants.
Attendees are invited to explore the Facebook interface starting with their Timeline and News Feed. Participants will be walked through how to open up and edit security, privacy, and friend settings. Learn how to add friends, unfriend, and block intruders. Find out how to upload content, links, and photos. If there is time, attendees will also learn how to create or join existing Facebook groups. In order to attend, participants need to bring their Facebook log-in credentials to class or if they don't have a Facebook account yet to bring their email log-in credentials. If a handheld device is used to access Facebook, attendees are asked to bring that, too.
Greenwich resident Janeen Bjork has applied the detective, analytic, and presentation skills she garnered in a career of over three decades in TV research to her second career as a Genealogy and IT teacher and presenter. Over the last five years she has taught classes in Facebook, MS Word, and MS Excel at several senior centers and Connecticut libraries. Her engaging and interactive presentation style uses audience participation with actual examples and case studies to prepare audiences to retain the new skills they learn in her classes.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library. Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this presentation is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency, however, space is limited to only 10 participants so early registration is recommended. Please call 203-262-0626 ext. 130 to register.
