On Friday, May 3, 2019 from 8-10pm, starting in the Kingsley Room, the Astronomical Society of New Haven will lead a star gazing event at Southbury Public Library.
Join us and spend an evening looking at the stars with the Astronomical Society of New Haven. Feel free to also bring your own telescopes to watch the stars or ASNH members will help you look through member telescopes. The members of ASNH will also be bringing meteorites. Come enjoy this prelude to our space themed summer reading series.
The Astronomical Society of New Haven, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) (3), scientific and educational organization that fosters learning about astronomy for amateurs at all levels—beginners through life-long enthusiasts. ASNH participates in public and private outreach events throughout CT where members share views through their telescopes and their love, enthusiasm, and knowledge of astronomy with the public. We collaborate with schools, museums, libraries, clubs, churches—a wide range of non-profit organizations—to offer a variety of educational programs. The society encourages the public to ask questions, enjoy breathtaking astronomical views, and learn about astronomy. For more information and a calendar of up-coming events, please visit www.asnh.org or contact us at P.O. Box 5078 Milford, CT. 06460.
Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this presentation is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Space is limited and registration is required. Please call 203-262-0626 ext. 130 to register. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library.
