On Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 1:00-3:00pm, in the Kingsley Room, join us for a talk with author Walt Dierks about childhood and coming of age in the most turbulent era in recent history.
Fragments is a memoir following the stories of Walt Dierks' childhood and the lives of the other boys in his neighborhood. With fathers and older brothers off at war and mothers and older sisters working outside the home, preteens and children had more freedom - for better or worse. This was a unique time in history to come of age. Come hear some of these fascinating stories first-hand!
Walt Dierks earned his MBA from George Washington University and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for forty years. After retiring, he moved to Woodbury, Connecticut and worked as a substitute teacher for twelve years.
Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this presentation is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Space is limited and registration is required. Please call 203-262-0626 ext. 130 to register.
