10/22/2020 - Children’s and Teen Programs for November 2020

The Southbury Public Library Youth Services department is pleased to announce programming for November 2020 for children and teens. Children’s Programs:

Drop-In Storytime - Monday, November 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 at 10:30 am on Facebook Live
Join Miss Ann for stories and songs every Monday. All ages welcome. Crafts available in the Youth Services department while supplies last. No registration required.

Storytime with Katie – Wednesday, November 4, 18 & 25 at 10:30 am on Facebook Live
Join Miss Katie for stories and songs geared towards toddlers and older. All ages welcome. Crafts available in the Youth Services department while supplies last. No registration required.

Nutmegs at Noon – Thursday, November 5, 12 & 19 at 12:00 pm on Facebook Live
Join Miss Heather as we explore the Elementary and Intermediate Nutmeg Nominees. No registration required.

STEAMonday: Pumpkin Slime – Monday, November 16 at 4:00 pm on Facebook Live
Join Miss Heather for an afternoon of science fun. This month we’re making pumpkin slime. Recommended for ages 7 & up. No registration required.

Recycled Book Hedgehog Craft – Thursday, November 19 at 4:30 pm on Zoom
Join Miss Katie for hedgehog themed stories and then make a craft together using recycled materials. Grades 2-5. Registration required.

Food Explorers: Southwest Quesadilla – Tuesday, November 24 at 5:00 pm on Zoom
Let’s make dinner together with Megan, Registered Dietitian from Food Explorers. We’re making Southwest Quesadillas with (optional) guacamole. Ages 7 & up and families. Registration is required.

Teen Programs:

Food Explorers: Sweet Potato Gnocchi – Monday, November 9 at 5 pm on Zoom
Join Katie, Registered Dietitian from Food Explorers, to make homemade Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Garlic Butter Sauce! These light, fluffy, and slightly sweet pillows of goodness don't require any special cooking equipment. Grades 6-12. Registration required.

Make and Take Craft - Starting Monday, November 2
Pick up complete kits to make a Pusheen Pocket Pal Plush in the Teen Department starting Monday, November 2. Each kit will have instructions and all supplies needed. You can work on the kits in your own time, or you can wait and work on them together with us during our Make and Take Monday Meetup! Even though our Monday Meetup is an hour long, kits will usually take more than an hour to complete.

Zoom Make and Take Meetup – Monday, November 16 at 4:00 pm on Zoom
Join us for our first Make and Take Monday Meetup! Join us to work on your Pusheen Pocket Pal Plush together, or to chat about how it went (note: if you are planning on working on it together, having your felt cut out before the program will help). Grades 6-12. Registration required.

Harry Potter Club – Wednesday, November 18 at 6:00 pm on Zoom
Join us for this virtual Harry Potter Club meeting! Harry Potter Club meets once a month, and meetings cover a variety of wizarding related topics including games, trivia, and crafts. Grades 6-12. Registration required.
