11/21/2018 - 'Small Business Saturday' Happens November 24 in Southbury

From The Southbury Economic Development Commission: This holiday season Southbury residents are invited to claim their #ShopSmall passport to record their support for local business.

When Southbury residents shop at a participating merchant on November 24th, they will be given a stamp for their Shop Local/Shop Small passports. They can then turn in their passport at town hall for a chance to win a $150, $100 or $50 gift certificate to the participating merchant of their choice, courtesy of the EDC.

Shoppers can claim their free passport from any participating merchant or in front of the old LaBonne’s grocery store starting at 8am, Saturday, Nov 24th. Members of the EDC will be handing out passports, new 2018 edition Southbury Shop Local bags and refreshments.

To learn more about the program and see all participating merchants, visit the Southbury EDC website at www.southbury-ct.org/shoplocal.

“Everyone wins when Southbury residents shop at local merchants”, said Anne Armeno, Southbury EDC Chair. “Our local businesses are owned by our friends and neighbors and keeping money in our community is great for everyone.”

Local businesses that wish to participate can sign up at the southbury-ct.org/shoplocal web site. Participation by local businesses is free.

Southbury is hosting #ShopSmall / Small Business Saturday in conjunction with American Express.
