The Office of Economic Development continues its weekly Wednesday webinar series focused on COVID-19 and business reopening with interviews featuring thought leaders and subject matter experts on topics of today. Upcoming episodes in July include:
- “Economic Disparities of COVID-19 on the Black Community” on Wednesday, July 1st at 12 noon, will feature special guest Shawn D. Rochester, CEO of Good Steward, LLC, founder PHD Enterprises and the IDEA Institute, and Southbury resident. Mr. Rochester is the author of “The Black Tax: The Cost of Being Black in America” and a sought-after speaker who has spoken on Wall Street, in Silicon Valley, at leading universities and the United Nations about the staggering financial cost of discrimination against Black people in America and a new economic framework to help create the millions of jobs and businesses that are missing in the black community.
- “The Emotional Side of Reopening” on Wednesday, July 8th at 12 noon, will feature nationally recognized leadership consultant and best-selling author, Ron Carucci, discussing how to manage the uncertainty and anxiety of reopening your business. Mr. Carucci is co-founder and Managing Partner at Navalent, working with CEOs and executives pursuing transformational change for their organizations, leaders, and industries. The best-selling author of eight books, including the recent Amazon #1 Rising to Power, Ron is a regular contributor to the Harvard Business Review, Forbes, and a two-time TEDx speaker. His work’s been featured in Fortune, CEO Magazine, Inc., Business Insider, MSNBC, Business Week, and Smart Business.
