On Saturday, October 14, 2023, as part of the Town of Southbury’s year-long 350th Anniversary Celebration, residents and visitors can enjoy the return of a fond tradition - the Southbury Classics & Car Parade, bringing the car community back to the one and only Southbury.
The Southbury Classics & Car Parade is a day filled with eye-catching automobiles, fantastic food trucks, and memory making moments for all. Southbury Classics aims to bring back the spirit of Southbury’s former Roaring 20’s Antique Car Show and blend it with a contemporary vibe and energy. It is a combination of an up-close look at vintage automobiles event, with a classic car parade rolling down Main Street.
The event begins with a Car Parade at 9am starting along the Heritage Village Green. The route will take them along Heritage Road to Poverty to Main Street South. The automobiles will then head west to 800 Main Street South where the Southbury Classics Car Show will be held, running from 10am to 2pm.
Spaces to display your car are limited, and you must be pre-registered to be on the lot. The Car Parade is limited to 50 cars, and must be pre-registered separately, so early registration is encouraged. Registration is $20 each.
Applications are now being accepted for the Southbury Classics & Car Parade through the event website, www.southburyclassics.com. For more information on Southbury Classics visit www.southburyclassics.com or by contact the event organizer, Kara Kenney at 646.924.8895 or kara@therpmagency.com.
The Southbury Classics & Car Parade is one of the many events being held this year to celebrate the town’s 350th Anniversary (1673-2023), each event aimed at highlighting the past and progress of the one and only Southbury. The 350th Anniversary Steering Committee is John Dwyer and Kevin Bielmeier (co-chairs), Brian Jones (vice-chair), Justin Bette, Lynn Dwyer, Melinda Elliott, Michael Ganem, Kara Kenney, Mary Korsu, and Gosia Liedlich.
