350th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
History Photography Exhibition of Southbury
The 350th Anniversary Committee proudly unveiled its historical photography exhibit in the Gloria Cachion Gallery at the Southbury Public Library. This exhibit runs over three months, changing each month, and includes images from private collections, some never before seen by the public. The first offering, “Early Southbury”, ran the month of October and has been very well received. November is titled “Growing Southbury” and will run November 2 – 29, 2023.
2nd History Walk & 20th Anniversary Phillips Farm Celebration
The Southbury Land Trust and the Town of Southbury held the 2nd History Walk of this year, spotlighting one of the earliest travel paths to/from the 1673 Southbury frontier that provided access to trade and shipping along the Connecticut coast. It was followed by a grand celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the SLT’s acquisition of Phillips Farm. View photos.

Town Historian and History Talk conductor, John Dwyer, invites you to climb aboard and Take a Ride on the Highland Line: a virtual tour with historical photos and drawings of the sites and the stops between Waterbury and Hawleyville. This is a free event at the Southbury Public Library, with registration.
