10/18/2025 - Fall Festival and Outdoor Movie Night Part of the first ever Fall Festival week of fun with free programs, contest and an outdoor movie showing! Pumpkin Contest: judging will take place promptly at 4:30pm. Prizes awarded to the best pumpkin by a family, adult, teen, and child. Submissions can be brought to the Parks and Rec main office during business hours between 10/14 and 10/17 or brought to the Town Hall Green after 4:00pm Saturday 10/18. Make sure you get checked in by Parks and Rec Staff for your official entry form. Scarecrow Contest: judging will take place promptly at 4:30pm. Prize awarded to the best Scarecrow overall. Outdoor Movie: Hocus Pocus (rated PG) will begin at sunset, approximately 6:15pm, with a run time of 1h 36m. Bring blankets or lawn chairs. Cider served by the Knights of Columbus, apples provided by Hidden Gem Orchard, and popcorn will be available for all attendants for FREE. Nachos will be available for purchase from Scouting America Troop 1607! Come for story time with the Southbury Public Library and giveaways from Pomperaug Basketball community. Outdoor Movie Night is co-sponsored by the Southbury Public Library.
