4/29/2023 - Shred Day It is easy to participate in this outdoor event. On Shred Day, a mobile shred truck will be in the Union Square Parking Lot. Beginning at 9 AM, customers will be directed to pull up next to the truck so volunteers can unload their paper and place it into the shred bid. When full, the bin is mechanically lifted and emptied into the hopper where it is shredded and stored securely in the back of the shred truck for recycling. This event provides a public service for a nominal fee ($10 for a standard “bankers” box) while supporting the Southbury Community Lions Club with their community service projects which include outreach for causes related to the environment, diabetes, vision and earring impairment, hunger and childhood cancer.
