9/8/2024 - Southbury Celebration

Due to the forecasted rain on Saturday, the event will take place on SUNDAY, September 8 at the same time.

Food! Fun!! Fireworks!!! Saturday, September 7, 2024 (rain date Sunday, September 8). Please bring your lawn chairs and blankets and get set for a terrific evening of fun and celebration for all ages. Free admission.

  • Food court, music, vendors from 4:30 to 9:00pm
  • FIREWORKS approximately at 8:15pm

Parking

Please see the map for parking information.

  • Parking is free.
  • All parking is on the Southbury Training School (STS) Great Front Lawn. Parking entrance is off Nutmeg Avenue, accessed via the main STS entrance. (Follow signage.)
  • Handicapped Parking (by permit only) will be in a designated area as close as possible to the Rte. 172 crosswalk. (The Lake Stibbs parking lot will not be used due to storm-related damage.)
  • Drop-off and pick-up area (including Uber / Lift, etc.) is behind the Gatehouse cottage at the main STS entrance.
  • For safety, no pedestrian walking on Rte. 172 in the event area due to traffic congestion.

No alcohol and no pets are permitted at the event. Caution should be exercised with service animals due to the large crowds and fireworks noises. Due to congested event traffic and safety concerns, there will be no pedestrian walking, no vehicle parking and no parent “drop off/pick up” along Route 172.
