Farmers Market Nutrition Program

Some vendors (but not all) at the Southbury Farmers’ Market accept FMNP and SFMNP cards.

The Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is designed to provide low-income seniors with access to locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey and herbs.

The WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) provides funds eligible participants purchase fresh produce from Connecticut farmers. The program is associated with the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, popularly known as WIC.

The program runs from June 1st to November 30th each year. The deadline to receive a card is September 30.

Who is eligible?

  • Seniors over 60 (SFMNP)
  • Disabled individuals meeting income and housing guidelines (SFMNP)
  • Women, infants, and children (FMNP)

How to participate

  • Seniors: the SFMNP cards are issued by the Southbury Senior Services Director and Municipal Agent Andrea Corcoran. Please make appointment by calling 203-262-0651.
  • WIC participants: contact your local WIC agency for details to receive FMNP cards.

Not all farmers/vendors accept FMNP cards, and only selected items can be purchased with the cards. Please check with the farmer/vendor before shopping.
