10/16/2020 - Zoning Commission: Actions Taken at Meeting on October 14, 2020 (ADU)

The following decision was made at the Wednesday, October 14, 2020 meeting of the Southbury Zoning Commission:

VOTED unanimously to APPROVE the following, with an effective date of November 15, 2020:

  1. Application to Amend the Southbury Zoning Regulations, Section 1.7, Definitions to amend the definition for “Dwelling Unit” and to add a new definition for “Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)”.
  2. Application to Amend the Southbury Zoning Regulations to delete the current language in Section 3.3.2, “Accessory Apartments” and add a new Section 3.3.2 “Accessory Dwelling Units” to allow Interior, Attached and Detached Accessory Dwelling Units with associated standards.
  3. Application to Amend the Southbury Zoning Regulations, Section 3, Permitted Uses by District, Schedule A, Permitted Uses, Line A-1.1 to delete existing language and add “Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) subject to the standards as outlined in Section 3.3.2”.
