NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING WITH RESPECT TO NOT TO EXCEED $35,000,000
REVENUE BONDS INCLUDING THE LUTHERAN HOME- ASCENTRIA CARE
ALLIANCE PROJECT
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be conducted by the Town of Southbury, Connecticut (the "Town") at 7 PM on May 20, 2021, at Southbury Town Hall, Room 205, 501 Main Street South, Southbury, Connecticut. The purpose of the hearing will be to consider the proposal of Ascentria Care Alliance for the benefit of the Lutheran Home of Southbury, Inc. (together with its affiliates, the "Borrower") that the National Finance Authority (the "Authority") issue
qualified 501(c)(3) bonds (as defined in Section 145 of the Internal Revenue Code), in an aggregate amount not to exceed $35,000,000, to finance certain Ascentria Care Alliance, Inc. facilities to be owned and operated by the Borrower for senior living healthcare purposes and located or to be located at Lutheran Home of Southbury, 990 Main Street North, Southbury, Connecticut (the "Facility"), or adjacent or proximate sites. The new projects expected to be financed include, but are not limited to, (i) the acquisition by Borrower of the Southbury Facility and (ii) renovations to the "residential care" portion of the Facility, per the licensure of the Facility This public hearing is a requirement of the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982 (TEFRA) and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended;
The bonds proposed to be issued by the Authority will not constitute an obligation of the Town. There is no direct or indirect financial impact to the Town of Southbury as a result of this proposed financing. The bonds will be special, limited obligations of the Authority payable solely from the loan repayments to be made by the Borrower to the Authority.
