The electors of the TOWN OF SOUTHBURY are hereby warned to meet at their respective polling places in said Town on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, for the following purpose:
To cast their vote for First Selectman, Selectmen, Board of Finance, Board of Finance
Alternates, Board of Assessment Appeals, Planning Commission, Planning Commission Alternates,
Zoning Commission, Zoning Commission Alternates, Zoning Board of Appeals, Zoning Board of Appeals
Alternates, Inland Wetlands Commission, Inland Wetlands Commission Alternates, Pomperaug Valley
Authority Regional Board of Education.
To vote on the following questions for the approval or disapproval of question, a vote of “YES” being a vote for approval, and a vote of “NO” being a vote for disapproval:
1. Shall the Town of Southbury establish a police Department independent of the Resident Trooper Program, including the employment of Chief of Police?
Notice is hereby given that the location of the polling places is as follows:
- Voting Dist. #1, Firehouse – 461 Main Street South
- Voting Dist. #2, Southbury Public Library - 100 Poverty Road
- Voting Dist. #3, Community Building – 561 Main Street South
Voting tabulators will be used. The polls will be open at six o’clock in the morning (6:00 A.M.) and will remain open until eight o’clock in the evening (8:00 P.M.).
Central counting of absentee ballots will be conducted in Room 205. Election Day Registration is in Room 201, Southbury Town Hall, 501 Main Street South, Southbury, CT 06488.
