NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING

MAIN STREET SOUTH/POVERTY ROAD PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
SOUTHBURY, CONNECTICUT
STATE PROJECT No. 0130-0194

The Town of Southbury will conduct a public information meeting concerning installation of pedestrian improvements along Main Street South and Poverty Road in Southbury on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Southbury Town Hall, Room 205 at 501 Main Street South in Southbury. The meeting facility is ADA accessible with ample parking available.

The public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments and ask questions regarding the proposed project. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation.

The project is currently in the design phase. Bids will be solicited for the installation of a sidewalk from Main Street South to the Southbury Public Library, as well as for improvements to pedestrian crosswalks at three intersections on Main Street South. The project is sponsored by Representative Jahana Hayes and funding is provided by the federal Community Project Funding program and the Town of Southbury.

All requests received at least five business days before the meeting will be given consideration.

It is the Town’s policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its feedback to assist in the project’s development. Members of the public can submit comments and questions during the two-week public comment period following the meeting.
