Inland Wetlands Commission
At their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, May 13th, 2025, the Southbury Inland Wetlands Commission took the following actions:
APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS AND PENDING FINAL RESOLUTION:
Application# 1756: 100 Plaster House, Mr. Mike Frantz (Applicant/Owner). Approval to clean up debris and eroded stream banks from the August 18, 2024 flood damage. Site plan provided with this application.
APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS AND PENDING FINAL RESOLUTION:
Application# 1755: 45 Fieldstone Way, Southbury CT 06488. Southbury. Mr. Laurent Vernillet (Applicant). Approval for an extension of 3 footing/roof drains within wetlands setback. Site plan provided with this application.
SHOW CAUSE HEARING CEASE AND DESIST LIFTED WITH CONDITIONS:
21 River Trail,
Map – 29A; Block - 68; Lot – C110-112+117-LE
- A site visit was conducted on 4/07/2025. It was observed that clearing of trees and depositing of organics into active wetlands. Removal of trees and vegetation has been performed within the 50' upland review regulated area to create a new path down to the park.
- A second site visit was performed on 4/24/2025 with the Inland Wetlands Commissioners, where it was determined that clearing was within the upland review area, abutting park, potential fill and unpermitted work. Excavator activity was noticed for moving soils.
SHOW CAUSE HEARING CEASE AND DESIST CONTINUES WITH MODIFICATIONS:

- A site visit was performed on 4/07/2025. It was observed that removal of trees and vegetation along general site work had been conducted.
- A second site visit was performed on 4/24/2025 with the Inland Wetlands Commissioners, where it was determined that removal of trees and vegetation had been conducted within the 50’ upland review area. Single excavator with claw was observed onsite and active. Photographs taken show sinuous flow of stream appears light grey from contamination.
