1/8/2019 - Adams and Jefferson: Their Historic 50 Year Friendship Presentation at Southbury Public Library

On Friday, February 15, 2019 at 2pm, with Friday, February 22 at 2pm as a snow date, in Kingsley Room, George Baker will portray John Adams in his one-man show and will explain the friendship of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson

Join us for a presentation by John Adams impersonator George Baker about the friendship between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. George will explain how their paths converged at the Continental Congress, their bitter paths to election as president of the United States, and their eventual reconciliation.

Since 2008, George Baker has portrayed the character of President John Adams in a one-man show throughout the country at national conventions and venues like Mystic Seaport in Connecticut, the New-York Historical Society and was featured as John Adams on National Public Radio’s weekend program, Studio 360. A graduate of Columbia College ’69 and Columbia Law School ’73, George practices law when not on the road as John Adams.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this presentation is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Space is limited and registration is required. Please call 203-262-0626 ext. 130 to register. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library.
