Latest Information from the Pomperaug District Department of Health.
The Pomperaug District Department of Health has seen a significant increase in cases over the last week. At this time, the Pomperaug Health District has a total of 29 cases. Broken down by town: Southbury has 13 cases, Woodbury has 5, and Oxford has 11. There has been 1 death. So far, the average age of the cases is 53 years, with the youngest case being 20 years old and the oldest being 78. To date, there are 18 males and 11 females.
The Health District’s Public Health Nurse has been following up on each positive case and discussing home isolation recommendations along with employment assessment. For individuals who are inpatient at acute care hospitals and test positive, the hospital will lead their investigation but are still counted in this report under their residence town. Also counted in this report are individuals who reside at assisted living facilities and/or nursing homes.
