4/24/2020 - COVID-19 Southbury Update

SHOUT OUT TO ALL THOSE WHO TAKE CARE OF SOUTHBURY

The Town of Southbury would like to thank all the work emergency services is doing to care for our residents each and every day: Emergency Medical Services responding to our 911 calls that include many Covid positive patients, hospitals staff working long hours and providing lifesaving support, cashiers who stand for long hours face to face with countless consumers trying to care for their families, and all essential workers that continue to work to serve the needs of our residents. We recognize and thank you!

Senior Services Grocery Brigade

To date, Senior Services has filled 485 grocery orders over the past 19 days totaling $41,057.59. For more information on the grocery brigade: www.southbury-ct.org/groceriesforseniors.

Pomperaug Health District COVID-19 Case Summary for April 24, 2020

The Pomperaug District Department of Health continues to monitor cases of COVID-19 in our community. The case count in the Pomperaug Health District has increased to 195. The Southbury cases include 19 residents at the Southbury Training School and approximately 36 cases at long term care and assisted living facilities. We are sad to report that 21 people in the Pomperaug Health District have succumbed to COVID-19.
