12/5/2020 - Southbury Virtual Tree Lighting Ceremony 2020

This year the Southbury Parks and Recreation was not able to hold our usual Tree Lighting Ceremony due to the pandemic, but we wanted to bring some joy to Southbury residents and we prepared a Virtual Tree Lighting Ceremony for all to enjoy. We hope you have fun watching the video and sing along! Also, we wanted to point out that we have a new tree. The new tree is between Town Hall and the Fire Department on Main Street South.

We would like to thank everyone who helped to make this video possible:

  • Jeff Manville, Southbury First Selectman
  • Jim Tornatore, Artistic Director of Newbury Musical Theatre Company based in Southbury and member of the Southbury Parks and Recreation Commission
  • Amber Cardinal, Music Teacher at Rochambeau Middle School
  • Tristan Mayes, Music Teacher at Long Meadow Elementary School
  • Southbury Parks and Recreation, IT and Public Works Departments
  • Southbury Volunteer Firemen's Association
  • and Santa Claus for coming down all the way from the North Pole

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah and a better, healthy New Year to all.
