8/20/2021 - Storm Henri Update - August 20, 2021

The Emergency Management team has spent the majority of the day preparing and planning for the incoming storm. The current storm track indicates landfall on Sunday but we anticipate feeling the effects on Saturday evening.

All municipal emergency services and public works have been briefed on the situation and are preparing their respective agencies with supplies and personnel.

We have been and will continue to be in communication with the State of CT, our regional partners and utility companies. Eversource has begun their preparations and is currently bringing crews into our region.

With the current forecasted track of Henri, we can expect heavy rainfall and high winds, with the potential for a significant amount of coastal flooding and urban flooding across Connecticut. We anticipate prolonged power outages and multiple downed trees. We urge all residents to make storm preparations now.
