Southbury Economic Development Director, Kevin Bielmeier is hosting a weekly radio broadcast called the Southbury Radio Hour on WATR from Noon-1pm through the month of June. The program can be heard live on 1320-AM and 97.7-FM or streaming on www.watr.com. Co-hosting each broadcast is long-time legend of local radio, Mr. Tom Hill III.
The inaugural episode featured Jack Zazzaro, D.M.D., a staple in the Southbury business community with a successful dental practice at 316 Main Street South. Dr. Zazzaro has served a decade on the Town’s Economic Development Commission and the board of the Southbury Business Association, now the newly formed Southbury Chamber, which both Dr. Zazzaro and Mr. Bielmeier now serve. Also on the broadcast was Southbury’s multi-term First Selectman, Jeffrey Manville. A lifelong resident of Southbury, Mr. Manville shared with listeners his unique perspective on what makes it such a special place.
The next episode features Southbury resident Vince Cappelletti, owner of Lucas Local Oyster Bar and Restaurant; Mission Salad and, soon-to-open, Monty’s Downtown ~ An American Pub. All three restaurants are located in the plaza, Southbury Green, at 775 Main Street South.
The third broadcast, on June 21st, will feature Stevie Sacco, owner of The Bevy Co., Southbury’s hot new cocktail bar and lounge. Ms. Sacco will describe her journey as a young entrepreneur who has managed to combine her expertise as an artisan of cocktail creations, with her decade of experience in restaurant management, to open up a place uniquely all her own.
Rounding out the month of programs, on June 28th, will feature another entrepreneur, Michael Ferreira, owner of www.Southbury.com. Mr. Ferreira will share cyber stories of the past three years spent building a website into the go-to online resource for all things Southbury.
Each broadcast is recorded and will be available on the Town’s website: www.southbury-ct.org/radiohour.
