Absentee ballot applications are available at the Town Clerk’s Office for the Town of Southbury 2024-2025 budget and the Pomperaug Regional School District #15 2024-2025 budget for the referendum being held on May 8, 2024. Registered electors of the Town or United States Citizens, who are eighteen years or older and own taxable property assessed at $1000.00 or more on the October 1, 2023 Grand List, can vote in this referendum. Ballots cannot be mailed from the Town Clerk’s office for a referendum.
To obtain an absentee ballot, voters must complete an application. Once the completed application is received and verified by the Town Clerk’s office, a ballot will be issued. Absentee ballots must be given to the applicant in person or to the applicant’s designee. Ballots must be returned to this office before the close of polls, 8:00 P.M. on the day of the referendum. The Absentee Ballot Drop Box will be open to receive ballots located at the Town Hall upper parking lot entrance.

This referendum has two questions.
QUESTION #1
“Shall the Town of Southbury appropriate $23,663,449 for the municipal budget and approve the Special Revenue Fund appropriations for the fiscal year July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025?”
QUESTION #2
“Shall the proposed 2024-2025 budget of the Pomperaug Regional School District #15 in the amount of $87,166,507 be adopted?”
