At their SPECIAL MEETING on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th, 2024, the Southbury Inland Wetlands Commission took the following actions:

  • APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS: Application# 1741: 203 Hollow Swamp Road, Southbury CT 06288. Ms. Lauren Lawrence (owner/applicant). Seeking approval to remove five fallen trees that came down as a result of the August 18, 2024 flooding. Plan provided with this application.
  • APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS: Application# F-2000: 76 Lee Farm Drive, Southbury CT 06288. Mr. Roy Rogan (owner/applicant). Approval to divert the stream which is continuing to erode the backyard. Seeking approval to remove fallen tree debris and bring the stream back to original flow. Filling and reinforcing of eroded slope supporting the foundation of the home.
  • APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS: Application# F-2003: 346 Jeremy Swamp Road, Southbury CT 06488. Mr. Marvin Orellana (owner/applicant). Approval to conduct emergency repair to a portion of the driveway that was washed out by the storm flooding.
  • APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS: Application# F-2004: 207 Bagley Road and 209 Bagley Road, Southbury CT 06488. Mr. Louis Cacace (207 owner/applicant) and Mr. Joshua Smith (209 owner/applicant). Approval to repair common driveway. Emergency repair of the culvert pipes washed out due to flooding leaving a 30 feet x 18 feet void on the driveway. Temporary repairs in future.
  • APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS: Application# F-2005: 1563 Kettletown Road, Southbury CT 06488. Mr. & Mrs. Francis and Janet Bresson (owners/applicants). Approval to repair drainage ditch wash out from flooding. Additionally repair driveway, culvert pipes and cleanout retention pond, to reseed and replace topsoil to the lawn area that was washed out. Dated in Southbury, Connecticut this 10th day of September, 2024.
  • APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS: Application# F-2009: 113 Bagley Road and 115 Bagley Road, Southbury CT 06488. Ms. Jeannette Ruddy (113 owner/applicant) and Ms. Cori Wlasuk (209 owner/applicant). Approval to remove damaged deteriorated metal pipe. Replace 60” AOS N-12 R. Pipe. Replace, restore headwall with 6 feet x 12 feet rip-rap/concrete backing
  • APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS: Application# F-2011: 614 Southford Road, Southbury CT 06488. Ms. Andrea B. Dibner (owner/applicant). Approval to remove fallen trees and debris and re-direct the watercourse within the property to its original flow that has caused severe flooding in the property including the wetlands areas. Front and side portions of the property damaged by Larkin Bridal Trail collapse and subsequent flooding.
  • APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS: Application# F-2012: 602 Southford Road, Southbury CT 06488. Mr. & Mrs. Eric and Catherine Dibner (owner/applicant). Approval to remove debris including damaged trees, vehicles, building materials and equipment from the northern, southern and western portion of the property; Remove soil material deposited as a result of the bridal trail breech as well as do grading; Cut down associated damaged and hazardous trees; Stream channelization and bank reinforcement associated with the newly formed and undefined drainage channel in order to reduce flooding in the future.
