Please join Southbury Parks and Recreation on Saturday, December 7, 2024 for an inclusive special event, The Holiday Celebration: Be the Light!
Activities taking place include live music with sing-along songs, parade of lights, Santa arriving on a fire truck, lighting of holiday decorations, decorated winter scenes for photo opportunities, free crafts and activities, free hot cocoa & sweets, and new this year, a food truck serving grilled cheese and soup available for purchase.
This is a free event, rain or shine. It will take place at Firehouse and the Town Hall Green at 501 Main Street South.
Sensory-friendly activities will take place inside the Firehouse building between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm, with general admission from 4:00 pm to 6:45 pm.
The outdoor program will start around 5:00 pm with Santa arriving on the fire truck around 5:30 pm, and will be available for photos afterwards.
Parking will be available at Town Hall's lower parking lot, Parks and Recreation's parking lot, Rochambeau Middle School's parking lot and/or Pomperaug Elementary School's parking lot. There will be no parking at Town Hall’s upper parking lot and Firehouse’s parking lot. There will be a designated drop-off area at Town Hall’s lower lever parking lot, monitored by employees.
