3/31/2025 - Flooding Awareness Workshop

Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS Region 5) is offering HURRICANES MEAN BUSINESS Workshop on May 1, 2025 at Post University, 800 Country Club Road, Waterbury, CT 06708.

The number one killer in a Hurricane is not the wind, it's the flash flooding. This FREE workshop is being sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in cooperation with the Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, and the National Weather Service. The workshop is intended for homeowners and businesses to raise awareness of the risks and threats from damaging winds, power outages and flash flooding from hurricanes.
