Southbury Animal Control does not respond to wild animal complaints unless the wild animal is severely sick or injured, has bitten a human or domestic animal or is causing an immediate safety concern. Wildlife pest issues on private property, such as a skunk or bees nest, should be handled through a private contractor.

Black bears are becoming increasingly common in Southbury as the population continues to grow and expand.
