RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY – Gyre9
State and local officials, joined friends and family as product design and manufacturer Gyre9 cut the ribbon on their new facility at 1200 Main St South in Southbury on March 9, 2023.

RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY – European Wax Center
On Friday, March 24, the Southbury Chamber held a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the grand opening of European Wax Center, located in Southbury Plaza at 100 Main Street North, Suite 101. The business offers bikini waxing, eyebrow, leg, arm, upper lip, back, and Brazilian waxing for men and women in a chic environment. Among those in attendance were Southbury Chamber President and CEO Lynn Ward; Charlie Berger, Southbury Board of Directors Chairman and owner of Chatfield’s True Value; Southbury Board of Directors members Michael Ferreira of Southbury.com, Danielle Noel Hawthorne, Publisher of Southbury Neighbors magazine; and Dr. Jack Zazzaro. Along with Selectman Justin Bette and John Geheran, Vice Chair of the town’s Economic Development Commission.

On March 25th, Chris and Justine Kennan celebrated the opening of the second location of Len's Barber Shop, located in Union Square, 385 Main St South, #106. Chris' father, Len, opened the original location in New Milford in 1993. The Kennan's have been Southbury residents for 11 yrs. Welcome to the business community!

PLAN OF CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT (POCD)
The Planning Commission has formally adopted the Town’s 2022 Plan of Conservation and Development. More than a year in the making, the POCD was overseen by the Planning Commission, staff of the Land Use Department and Economic Development, and consulting firm, SLR International. The document is available on the Town’s website (www.southbury-ct.org/POCD), and in print at Town Hall in the Town Clerk and Land Use offices, and the Library.
350th EVENTS
More than a hundred people attended Southbury’s Civic Day on March 11th, an in-person and live-streamed event; part of the Town’s 350th Anniversary series. Presentations were made by First Selectman Manville; Town Historian John Dwyer; and artist / muralist David K. Merrill. Tours were led of the building, including the Town vault.
