A Note from the Economic Development Director
The mission of the Southbury Economic Development Commission is to support and foster a strong local economy for the Town of Southbury by attracting, promoting, retaining and engaging businesses. One measure of how we’re doing are ribbon cuttings. FORTY (40) were held since last July to celebrate grand openings, business expansions or remodeling, anniversaries, with more this month.
Another measure is retail sales. Since opening in January, the new Michaels store in Southbury Plaza consistently has had the highest volume of sales of all 21 stores nationwide in their new smaller format.
