STATE DOT AWARDS SOUTHBURY FUNDS FOR TRAIL PROJECT
The Town of Southbury has been awarded $800,000 through the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT-DOT) Community Connectivity Grant Program for the development of multi-use walking and biking paths to provide safe, alternative modes of transportation and recreational opportunities for the community. IBM SOUTHBURY
Town representatives toured the IBM Southbury campus last week. The company intends to put the 1.1 million SF facility on the market for sale later this year. The town will work closely with IBM to help reimagine this important site, and appreciates their many years in the community.

The company showcased their cutting-edge EV chargers made at this facility, and discussed the future of sustainable design and EV solutions for municipalities and communities through their new spin-off company G9EV.

FIRST CT VETERANS FARMERS MARKET
U.S. Small Business Administration CT District held a press event this month at Guardians Farm in Southbury to announce a first-of-its-kind Homegrown By Heroes Veterans Farmers Market. U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal attended and emphasized that "farming is a business." The market was a part of CT Veteran Grown, an initiative the provides one-on-one assistance to farmer veterans, funded through a three-year, $550,000 grant from the U.S. SBA, and administered by Connecticut Resource Conservation & Development.
