The Southbury Community Garden provides a healthy community to cultivate the joys of gardening, meet fellow gardeners, and contribute to our local food pantry. The Southbury Community Garden is a member garden for Southbury residents operated through the Southbury Department of Parks and Recreation. The members are required to abide by the Garden Regulations.
The Community Garden is located at Settlers Park, 280 Crook Horn Road. Plots are available through the Southbury Parks and Recreation Department in early spring. Call Recreation Coordinator Sara Panaccio at 203-262-0633 or email at spanaccio@southbury-ct.gov to secure the plot.
Meet and greet and workday. Rain Date May 4. Come meet your fellow gardeners, prepare your plot, mulch your walkways, and get set for a bountiful growing season. It is not recommended that you plant your plot with tender annuals (tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, etc.) until after May 15.
There are regular workdays that all gardeners are encouraged to attend. Workdays will start at 8:00 am. If you are not able to come to a workday you are encouraged to help maintain the garden when it is more convenient for you.

All of the maintenance within the garden and immediately surrounding the garden fence is the responsibility of the garden members. All of the maintenance is done on a volunteer basis. These scheduled workdays help to build a robust healthy garden with a strong sense of community. Thank you in advance for your help in maintaining the garden!
