Please note: The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Southbury will permanently close on Tuesday, November 19 at 6:00pm.
FEMA Disaster Declaration Assistance for Homeowners and Businesses
On Friday September 19, 2024, the major disaster declaration for Individual Assistance was approved by President Biden. Residents and business owners who sustained damages and losses due to the flooding event on August 18th and 19th can begin applying for assistance. The deadline for applying for FEMA assistance is November 19, 2024. There are multiple ways to apply:

Anyone using a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, can give FEMA the number for that service.
- FEMA app
- In person Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) is located in Southbury. These centers are dedicated, accessible and established locations where FEMA specialists can help face-to-face. At a DRC you can learn more about FEMA and additional disaster assistance programs, ask questions about your case and more. Details.

Spectrum customers: Please call 1-833-267-6094 with any service related questions. Or go to Spectrum Storm Center site for outage updates.
Frontier Communications customers: Please call 1-800-921-8101 to report any disruptions in your residential service.
Connecticut Water customers: Please call 1-800-286-5700 if you are experiencing a water emergency.
