9/22/2024 - Volunteer Appreciation BBQ On September 22, 2024, 1:00 PM at the Pavilion in Ballantine Park, the Volunteer Appreciation Committee will be hosting an afternoon filled with community spirit, food and fun. This year’s honorees are ALL of the wonderful townspeople within our community, with a special acknowledgement to Southbury’s First Responders. The Volunteer Appreciation Committee recognizes that many of our Southburians have gone above and beyond assisting their neighbors, and friends through tough times, during and after the flood that devastated so many. We feel that we would be remiss not to say ‘Thank You’ to each and every one of our community members for the effort and kindness displayed during this natural disaster. This year’s theme is ‘COMMUNITY’. With this in mind we are requesting that attendees help support those less fortunate than ourselves by bringing to the event a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Southbury Food Bank and will be distributed by them. Advance registration is required.
