Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 2-3pm in the Kingsley Room, join us for a musical performance by the Jim Scianna Duet: Jim Scianna and Dave Childs, of songs by Duke Ellington.
Join us for a performance of songs from the Duke Ellington songbook. Performances will include "It Don't Mean a Thing", 'Satin Doll." "Take the A Train" and more. The concert will also include material about Duke Ellington.
Jim Scianna is a professional musician in the Connecticut/ New York area. He is a graduate of Western Connecticut State University as well as Berklee College of Music. Scianna taught music in Region 15 Public School System for 28 years.
Hailing from the Midwest, Dave Childs has been a professional pianist and educator for 40 years. He has performed with such jazz greats as Jimmy Heath, James Moody, Bill Crow, Eddie Bert, Bill Watrous, Nelson Riddle Jazz Orchestra, and many others. Versatile and dynamic, Childs is a highly sought after musician in the CT-NY region, as well as maintaining a busy private teaching studio.
