5/19/2026 - The Power of Pigment: Understanding Color in Art on June 11, 2026

On Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 2-3:30pm on Zoom and streamed to our Kingsley Room, join us for a virtual program on the impact of color in art.

The history of color unveils remarkable stories—from purple dye extracted from sea snails to ultramarine blue once more precious than gold itself. Join us as we explore the importance of color in art.

Jane Oneail is an independent scholar and holds a Master's in Art History from Boston University and a Master's in Art in Education from Harvard University. Jane is a New Hampshire native and has worked at some of the state's most esteemed cultural institutions.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this program is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. This program is sponsored by the Charles H. and Ella Emery Rutledge Fund. Registration is required. Zoom invitation links will be sent via email on the day of the program.
