5/19/2026 - The Great Ziegfeld on June 12, 2026

On Friday, June 12, 2026 from 2-3:30pm on Zoom and streamed to our Kingsley Room, join us for a virtual program and learn more about Florenz Ziegfeld.

Florenz Ziegfeld is one of the most important producers in the history of Broadway. His Follies changed American entertainment , and the "Ziegfeld Girls" have become the stuff of legend. Join us as we explore the life of "The Great Ziegfeld."

Entertainment historian John Kenrick has worked in the theatre at every level from amateur to Broadway, eventually serving as personal assistant to six Tony Award winning producers, including the team behind the original production of Rent. He has taught musical theatre history courses at New York University’s Steinhardt School, The New School University, and Philadelphia’s University of the Arts.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this program is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. This program is sponsored by the Charles H. and Ella Emery Rutledge Fund. Registration is required. Zoom invitation links will be sent via email on the day of the program.
