The Gloria Cachion Gallery at the Southbury Public Library will showcase the art of Brad Stanton from Tuesday, June 2, 2026 through Monday, June 29, 2026.
Photography for Brad is the art of precision and the pursuit of beauty. His journey behind the camera spans more than 45 years, beginning with a career as a commercial photographer serving a wide range of clients – from manufacturing companies and product designers to furniture makers, advertising firms, and artists. That work demanded a mastery of lighting, composition, and technical control, and it taught Brad to see the world with both discipline and intention.
Brad goes on to say, “Over time, that deep foundation in craft evolved into a more personal practice. Today, my work is no longer about meeting a client’s brief but about expressing how I see and feel the world around me. My approach remains rooted in craftsmanship – from capturing the image to creating the finished print. Working with a large-format printer in my studio, I oversee every step of the process, ensuring each piece embodies both precision and emotional depth.”
Growing up in Newtown and now based in Danbury, Brad draws inspiration from the landscapes, textures, and quiet moments that shape the world around him. His photographs aim to reveal beauty in the familiar – transforming ordinary scenes into images that invite reflection and connection. Through his work, he hopes viewers experience the same sense of wonder he feels behind the lens: a reminder that beauty is always present, waiting to be seen with intention and care.
The exhibit is free and will be open during regular library hours which are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm, Tuesday and Thursday 9:30am to 9:00pm, Saturdays 9:30am to 4:00pm and Sundays 12:00pm to 5:00pm.
