Tuesday, July 15, 2026 from 2-3:30pm in the Brown Room, join us for an improv workshop.
This summer, the library is going back to the days of summer camp, and our next activity is a classic: Easy Improv! Join us in the "Theater Cabin" (aka the Brown Room) for an afternoon of unscripted fun led by teaching artist MayaRose. There are no lines to memorize - you'll just be connecting with friends, boosting your confidence, and playing games. Bring your sense of spontaneity, and be ready to have some fun!
MayaRose is a teaching artist with Hartford Performs and is the creator and host of Speak Your Mind (Channel 192, Newtown), a show that unites poets, storytellers, writers, and advocates, proving that every voice holds power. Her performances and workshops have been featured at CT Folk Fest; CT Riverview Music Fest (Shelton); Poetry in Motion; Piece of Mind Poetry (NewHaven), and numerous Arts Alliance of Woodbury events.
Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this program is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Registration is required. This program is sponsored by the Charles H. and Ella Emery Rutledge Fund. Please visit the link below for more information and to register.
