Selected artwork from Region 15 students will be on display at he Southbury and Middlebury Public Libraries from March 2, 2018 through March 28, 2018 in celebration of Youth Art Month. Members of the community are invited to visit the libraries to view the art pieces. Region 15’s long-term goal includes communication and innovation, creativity and expression in multiple medias for varied audiences.
Youth Art Month is a month of promoting art and art education in the United States and it is observed in March, with thousands of American Schools participating. The Youth Art Month Program emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages support for quality art programs. Youth Art Month was started in 1961 through the Art and Creative Materials Institute, Inc. (ACMI) and in cooperation with the National Art Education Association NAEA).
The exhibit will be open during regular library hours which are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30am to 9:00pm, Saturday 9:30am to 4:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm to 5:00pm.
