The Southbury Library will be hosting a presentation by Genealogist Nora Galvin on Thursday, June 14 from 2-4pm in the Kingsley room. This program is sponsored by the Janet Mann’s Gift Fund and the Heritage Village Genealogy Club.
This talk provides the foundation for Irish research by using US records to find your Irish ancestors, and come up with a strategy for transitioning to research Irish records. New record sets from Ireland have been put online in the last few years. Follow Nora as she tours them tracking her own family members.
Nora holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Biology) from The Ohio State University and a Masters of Arts (Liberal Studies) from Wesleyan University, Middletown, Connecticut. She was a research scientist at a major pharmaceutical company where one her roles was using DNA as a drug discovery tool, and she brings a scientist's curiosity and attention to detail to her genealogical research.
Registration is required. Please call the library at 203-262-0626 ext. 130 to register.
