A selection of award-winning artist, Artemis T. Romell’s watercolors and pastels will be on display in the Gloria Cachion Art Gallery in the Southbury Public Library from August 1 through August 30.
Artemis Romell has been painting and exhibiting throughout New England for the past thirty years. She is a member of the National Academic Artist’s Association, the Deerfield Valley Art Association of MA., the Tobacco Valley Art Association of CT, the Chatham Art Center of Cape Cod, and an Associate member of the New England Watercolor Society of Boston, MA. She enjoys her latest membership with the Brush and Pencil Club of the Heritage Village, Southbury, CT.
Artemis has studied with many prominent Art Teachers including Danuta Munnich of London, England; Michiko Erwin of Boston; Paul George of Rockport, MA, Jack Flynn at Baypath University and Richard Yarde at the University of MA. This past year she took classes with Professor Edward Little of the Western Connecticut State University at the Brush and Pencil Club workshops in the Village.
"I enjoy painting an array of subjects, including Landscapes, Seascapes, and the flowers of our beautiful New England, which has always been my home."
Artemis has donated her paintings for Fund-Raising events at social organizations and churches throughout the area. She resides with her husband, Michael, at Heritage Village Southbury, CT., and they enjoy their families nearby in Bethel and Wilton, CT.
The exhibit will be open during regular library hours which are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 A. M. to 5:30 P.M.; Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 A.M to 9:00 P.M. The library is closed on Saturday and Sunday in August.
