The Southbury Public Library will host local resident Marian Wood for a talk on Genealogy 101 on Tuesday, September 4th from 6:30-8pm in the Kingsley room.
New to genealogy or interested in a refresher course on the basics of building a family tree? Follow along as Marian Wood shows how to trace your family’s history in five easy steps, starting with what you know about your parents and grandparents. You’ll learn how to identify gaps in your family tree, find out about useful research sources, focus your research direction, and move backward in time to identify older ancestors. Pick up free handouts for a quick start on climbing your own family tree.
Marian Wood is a popular genealogy speaker who has been tracing her family’s roots for twenty years. She will be signing copies of her best-selling genealogy book, Planning a Future for Your Family’s Past, after the presentation.
Registration is required. Call the Southbury Public Library at 203-262-0626 ext. 130.
