12/31/2019 - Grover Cleveland’s Rubber Jaw and Other Fascinating Facts About America’s Presidents on February 1, 2020

On Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 1:00-2:30pm in the Kingsley Room, join us for this unique lecture on U.S. presidents.

Stephen Spignesi is returning to the Southbury Library to present unusual-but-true facts about America’s presidents. Did you know that George Washington only had one tooth left when he was inaugurated, even though he had his horses’ teeth brushed daily? Or that Abraham Lincoln owned a saloon before becoming president? Join us to learn more interesting tidbits like these about Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, and more!

Stephen Spignesi is a Connecticut native and a New York Times bestselling author. He has written numerous books on popular culture, television, film, American and world history, and contemporary fiction. He is a professor, novelist, poet, screenwriter, and musician.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this presentation is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency.
