The Southbury Public Library Youth Services department is thrilled to welcome back the chefs from Food Explorers. Let’s cook dinner together!
Food Explorers: Southwest Taquitos – Thursday, May 13 at 5:00 pm live on Zoom. Food Explorers is back! It’s time to get baking! Join Katie, Registered Dietitian from Food Explorers to make Southwest Taquitos. You’ll be using egg roll wrappers stuffed with filling and then baked to achieve a golden brown, crispy taquito.
You’ll need the following ingredients: 1 onion, garlic, 1 bell pepper, 1 can black beans, frozen/canned corn, shredded Mexican cheese, EGG ROLL wrappers (found in the refrigerated section/ethnic foods), plus optional: cilantro, cumin, sour cream, lime and avocado. Optional avocado can be combined with sour cream to make a sauce.
This class will be conducted using Zoom. Participants will receive a Zoom link and credentials the morning of the program. Registration required.
Recommended for ages 7 & up.
