The Southbury Public Library Youth Services department is thrilled to welcome back the Registered Dietitians from Food Explorers for two programs in August.
Food Explorers: Caprese Mac & Cheese – Monday, August 9 at 5:00 pm live on Zoom. You'll be loading up your Mac & Cheese with mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. To make this recipe you’ll need the following ingredients: butter, dried pasta, milk, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, and breadcrumbs. Include any optional ingredients like pesto, garlic, cream cheese, brie, and heirloom tomatoes.
Food Explorers: No Bake Mini Cheesecakes – Friday, August 13 at 3:00 pm live on Zoom. To make this recipe you’ll need the following ingredients: graham crackers, butter, brown sugar, heavy cream, cream cheese (2 bricks = 24 mini cheesecakes), white sugar, lemon juice, plain yogurt OR sour cream, and optional vanilla extract plus topping of your choice (berries, sprinkles, chocolate chips, etc.). Whipped cream can be made from scratch during class. You will need an electric hand-held or stand mixer.
Registration is required.
Recommended for ages 7 & up and families.
Participants will receive a Zoom link and credentials the morning of the program.
